Kangaroos Soccer is managed by Kevin Roos.
Kevin Roos created Kangaroos Soccer in 2018. Kevin currently has National Coaching Licenses from the United States Soccer Federation and United Soccer Coaches. He also has a K-12 teaching license.
Kevin grew up in the Fargo-Moorhead area where he played club soccer for the Red River Soccer Club. He played collegiate soccer at Concordia where he was a captain his senior year.
Kevin has over 20 years of coaching experience. He began coaching for the Red River Soccer Club when he was in high school and has coached both boys and girls at all age levels in club soccer. From 1998-2018, Kevin coached 17 seasons with Red River and Tri-City Soccer Clubs. He also spent a couple years with the Olympic Development Program.
Kevin coached boys high school soccer for five seasons and girls high school soccer for eleven seasons. He was named State Coach of the Year four times and Conference Coach of the Year six times. His high school girls team earned three conference championships and, following an undefeated season, a state title. His high school girls team also had an impressive 42 game unbeaten streak. Kevin also spent ten years teaching while he was coaching high school soccer.
Kevin has eight years of experience as a collegiate coach. He spent two seasons as a men's assistant coach. He spent one season as a women's assistant coach with a team that went undefeated in the regular season and made it to the sweet sixteen round of the NCAA tournament. He also spent five seasons as the head coach for a women's collegiate soccer team. In 2014, his team was both the conference regular season and tournament runner-up and made it to the NCAA tournament. Kevin finished with an overall winning record. His team also received the Team Academic Award from NSCAA/USC all five seasons. During his time as head coach, one of his players earned All-American accolades. He had a number of All-Region and Scholar All-Region players. His team always had at least one player represented on the All-Conference team. In 2016, his team was one of only nine collegiate programs to be awarded the USC Platinum Sportsmanship Award for not receiving any yellow or red cards. Kevin also taught 300 level college courses and served as an academic advisor for five years while coaching collegiate soccer.
When he is not coaching soccer, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife Abby and their two boys.
